A little taste of home. For those of yall not in the know, jambalaya is a spicy rice dish, often including chicken and sausage. Different regions make it differently- New Orleans jambalaya is more sticky and tomatoy, jambalaya from Ascension Parish is drier and similar to dirty rice, another local dish. While people do make jambalaya at home, it can also be made in HUGE pots, and great for feeding crowds. Locals take pride in their jambalaya recipes, and will compete in the Battle for the Paddle to determine who's 'laya is the best.
This started out as a Lilliputian Living illustration, but I wanted to add a little color to it.
