Satsuma Watercolor Illustration & Tutorial

Satsumas and other citrus are typically a winter fruit in Louisiana and add some liveliness and cheer in an otherwise grey and brown landscape. White Christmas? We haven't heard of her. This is a popular landscaping tree in Louisiana, and many people utilize the fruits to make jams and jellies. I wanted to celebrate this gift from Japan and an important if undersold staple of Louisiana life with this watercolor illustration of my character, Kara, enjoying some satsuma.
